Even Leaves Fall For You
Gentle whispers
break
beneath a crest
of autumn leaves
capturing the fragments
of a drowsy
sunlit breeze
clipping velvet metaphors
to strewn
amongst the trees
just to
snag
the linen
of a darting sun rays
sleeve

Whispers in the dark
Time heals, they oft repeat to me,
believing that they speak the truth
but flames so bright can never fade:
instead, in shadow they're renewed.
With contemplation overlaid,
the ache of joyful memory
For, in the darkness, light must seem,
to burn with new intensity:
in silence, sounds before unheard,
are amplified beyond mere words:
and memories of love, in pain,
from recollection won't abstain
Yet reminiscence must evoke
nostalgia of times more enjoyed.
I still recall each phrase you spoke
and know your face's lines by heart,
but would you even know my voice
or hear these whispers in the dark?
I don't know what this is I've found by DanielDGriffiths, literature

I don't know what this is I've found
I don't know what it is that holds
me in this vice-like grip so cold
it strangles all the will to live
and breaks the spine that would resist.
It chokes my words and chills my soul
and shatters my once balanced whole:
I'm toppled from my steady stride,
all sense of purpose gone from life.
It leaves me prostrate on the ground:
I don't know what this is I've found.
